If you were hoping to attend an Olympic event in 2010, you may have just under a week to step up and get your tickets. That's because the first phase of Online ticket sales ends on Nov. 7.

But as CTV Whistler bureau chief Sarah Galashan discovers after spending a day at the sliding track, many would-be spectators appear to be leaving their ticket purchases to the last minute.

Already the Vancouver Olympic Organizing Committee (VANOC) website has been viewed more than 3.1 million times, with the average individual order being for 15 tickets each.

Olympic organizers are hoping the public will step up and make their purchases soon.

Hockey is the most requested event so far, with medal games going to a lottery system, which will determine who gets the tickets.

But other events, including pre-medal hockey still have available seats as does bobsleigh.

With a report by CTV British Columbia's Sarah Galashan.
