Police are expected to release more information Wednesday about a double homicide inside an East Vancouver apartment suite yesterday.
Two young men were found dead inside a suite above a furniture store at 41st Ave. and Knight St. early Tuesday morning after police received reports of shots fired.
Vancouver Police worked through the night at the scene, but have not released the cause of death.
Cst. Jana McGuinness says the men's identities will become public after autopsies are conducted later today.
Police say it is too early in the investigation if the homicides are drug or gang-related.
There is speculation that bullets fired from the apartment broke a window at the front of the building and sailed out into the busy intersection.
Metro Vancouver has been rocked by 33 shootings since mid-January -- 14 of them fatal.
In the face of this latest shooting, police are trying their best to reassure the public.
"We are doing everything we can to target the individuals responsible for these types of crimes," said Houghton.
"We take gun violence extremely seriously."
