With only hours left to stage time, rap superstar Kanye West has rescheduled his Vancouver concert at Rogers Arena.
Canucks Sports & Entertainment sent out a news release at around 2:30 p.m. advising that Kanye West’s Yeezus Tour with Kendrick Lamar has been postponed until Oct. 31 for “unforeseen circumstances.”
The arena’s doors were set to open at 7 p.m. Sunday evening.
The organization asked fans to keep their tickets for tonight’s show, as they’ll be honoured for the reschedule date of Halloween.
There’s no specific information on why the concert has been postponed, but some gossip blogs are speculating one of the tour's equipment trucks may have been stolen.
Instead, West will perform back-to-back shows at the Staples Center in Los Angeles before coming to Vancouver on the 31st – a Thursday.
Fans immediately took to social media to express their displeasure with the sudden announcement.
No word on what compensation, if any, will be offered to fans who flew in for Sunday’s concert or those who can’t make the Oct. 31 show.
