Mounties in Penticton are investigating an alleged Christmas Day arson outside of the detachment.

On Dec. 25, at 5:24 p.m. officers were "alerted to an item lit on fire," the RCMP said in a news release Monday, adding that, "the fire was put out with limited property damage, and no one was injured."

CTV News asked for more information about the item, but a spokesperson said those details are being kept confidential.

Witnesses and drivers who were in the area around the time of the fire who may have dash-cam video are being asked to call 250-492-4300.
