A 34-year-old man who was caught in an avalanche while snowmobiling near Cherryville in B.C.’s interior, BC Ambulance Services confirmed Saturday, and has been found.

Vernon Search and Rescue, RCMP and ambulance crews were called to Goldpanner campground east of Lumby Saturday afternoon near the Keefer Lake resort.

Gordon Molendyk, of the Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP detachment, says emergency service people at the resort helped pull the man out.

Molendyk said the man, who is listed in serious condition, was airlifted to Kelowna General Hospital.

Details of the man’s identity have not yet been released.
