Today was the first chance for Canadian music lovers to tickets for the biggest music extravaganza of the year.
Early bird ticket packages went on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday for the 2009 JUNO Awards. Hosted by comedian Russell Peters, the event is being held at GM Place in March.
The 500 packages, which cost between $200 and $250, include a ticket to the Juno Cup, a wristband for JunoFest, a ticket to Songwriters' Circle and a ticket to attend the 38th annual JUNO Awards Broadcast.
Regular ticket sales begin on Feb. 7, with ticket prices ranging from $49 to $199.
Nominations for the awards will be announced Tuesday in Toronto. Earlier this week, the committee announced Vancouver songstress Sarah McLachlan will perform during the event.
The awards will be aired on CTV March 29th. It will be the eighth year in a row that The JUNO Awards will air on CTV, the Official Broadcast partner of The JUNO Awards.
Nova Scotian Anne Murray holds the title of most JUNO awards, with 24 under her belt. French singer Celine Dion takes second place with 20, and Bryan Adams takes third spot with 18.
