A two-vehicle crash claimed one life and sparked a fire that shut down both directions of Highway 99 at the George Massey Tunnel Monday night.
Police said the northbound lanes were expected to be closed for several hours.
The southbound lanes wouldn't likely reopen until 11 p.m.
The crash happened at about 8:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes inside the tunnel, police said.
The tunnel is about 20 kilometres south of Vancouver.
