A large tree crashed onto a busy street in downtown Vancouver Tuesday, knocking down live trolley wires and temporarily trapping people in their cars.
Firefighters confirmed people in two vehicles got stuck after the falling tree left wires on Cambie Street next to Victory Square around 5 p.m.
The vehicles' occupants were let about an hour later after a TransLink crew arrived at the scene and shut the power off.
No injuries have been reported.
TransLink said the 4, 19, 22 and 50 buses are being rerouted until the trolley wires can be fixed.
