MERRITT, B.C. - The Mounties say there were no passengers on a tour bus that crashed on British Columbia's Coquihalla Highway, leaving the driver dead.
The crash happened earlier today several kilometres north of Merritt.
The driver died at the scene, but there were no passengers on the bus at the time, police have said.
RCMP Cpl. Dave Ryan of the Merritt RCMP Detachment said police received an alert at around noon, Tuesday. It indicated that a charter bus had rolled over.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the incident, but do not consider the matter to be suspicious in nature.
The driver was a Caucasian male in his early to mid 60's and is believed to be from the Lower Mainland area of B.C. Police are not releasing the name of the man involved in this incident, as the next of kin still need to be notified.
