Jacques Rogge, the president of the International Olympic Committee, has now agreed to meet with the Federal Minister of State for Sport to discuss the issue. That will happen when Rogge is in Vancouver later this month.

The IOC has insisted the decision not to include the women was based on "technical merit." The jumpers claim its gender discrimination. Ottawa said it would ask the IOC to revisit its decision after the women filed a complaint with the Canadian Human Rights Commission. The IOC also says it has received a letter from the Canadian Olympic Committee seeking a review.
