Commuters, take note: changes to TransLink’s three-zone fare system – which was adopted in 1984 – could be in the works.
TransLink has launched an online survey, the first of four phases of its transit fare review. An in-depth look at the fare system has not been undertaken in the last 30 years.
“With the introduction of Compass, we have an unprecedented opportunity to take a fresh look at how our transportation system is priced,” reads a statement on the TransLink website.
“Through this review, we will consider possible changes to the transit fare system – including what role distance travelled, the type of transit service, time of travel, fare product, customer group, and journey time should have on the fare that you pay.”
The entire process is expected to take between 18 and 24 months.
Anyone interested in giving their input can complete the survey here between May 24 and June 30, 2016.
