Design has gone to the dogs, truly.

A Vancouver design firm has started selling fully-customizable dog trailers for the city’s most pampered pooches.

Starting at $800, the Pet Camper comes in four different styles and includes options like wireless speakers and lights inside.

These retro-inspired gems from Straight Line Designs, a custom-furniture maker, can be tricked out with all kinds of different finishes for the interior walls and flooring. Think hardwood or carpet – or even tile. Oh, and there’s a personalized license plate too.

Judson Beaumont of Straight Line Designs said he was inspired to design the petite trailers after his daughter ask him to build a dog house for their puppy several years ago.

“We love the earth as much as we love our pets, so we’ve designed the Pet Trailer to be made of environmentally-friendly materials, including recyclable aluminum, plywood and plastic laminate,” he said.

The trailers are meant for small pets under 20 pounds. Even though they look road-ready, the design firm says they’re not recommended for outdoor use.

The company hasn’t sold any of the posh trailers yet but said it’s getting inquiries from people around the globe and it’s “testing the waters” to see what clients are looking for.

It acknowledges the price tag may discourage the masses, but they’re working on a lower-end model to “accommodate all price ranges.”

More designs are on the way, according to the company.
