B.C. Premier Gordon Campbell says he's going to take the next few weeks to consider the right time to call by-elections for two Vancouver ridings.
Campbell says he doesn't want the two provincial by-elections confused with a federal election expected to be called Sunday.
There are two seats to be filled at the B.C. legislature after former New Democrat Gregor Robertson left to run for the mayor of Vancouver and Liberal Lorne Mayencourt decided to seek the federal Conservative nomination in Vancouver-Centre.
Campbell also says Liberal House Leader Mike de Jong will make a statement next week about whether or not the government will recall the B.C. legislature for a fall sitting.
The Opposition New Democrats have been calling for a fall sitting to deal with issues surrounding pay increases to government bureaucrats and the impact of the carbon tax on British Columbians.
British Columbians will go to the polls provincially in a fixed-date election next May.
