The B.C. Lottery Corporation's gambling website remained offline Monday, as the company faced questions about money that may have gone missing during its short life.

Retired banker Mike Reid logged onto PlayNow.com on its debut day, July 15.

He won a few hundred dollars playing blackjack, and transferred $100 of his winnings to his personal bank account.

Shortly afterwards, the site was pulled offline because of a security breach. Reid checked his bank account, and saw no sign of his money.

"I don't know where my $100 is," he told CTV News.

He's spent the last week calling customer services to get some answers and was told that transactions would go through once PlayNow.com is up and running again.

"They actually said it's in limbo, and that's a scary thing for me," Reid said. "What does limbo mean? It means they don't know where it is."

When CTV News contacted BCLC Monday, a representative initially said that customers would have access to full transaction histories once PlayNow.com is re-activated.

But around 5 p.m., the company said it would write Reid a $100 cheque.

Reid said he's pleased with the response. "I won't have to eat pork and beans tonight," he told CTV News.
