A family reunion is underway at the Vancouver aquarium.
Beluga whale Qila and her two-month-old calf were reunited last night with Aurora -- Qila's mom and the calf's grandmother.
Aurora played a vital role in the hours after the little calf was born, as she helped her daughter and first-time mom understand how to support and guide the baby.
The family has been separated since then, but aquarium staff say Qila and the calf have bonded well and now is a good time to widen the baby's social circle.
There has been no announcement yet as to when the baby will be given a name.
