Facing long lineups at British Columbia's ferry terminals some people have found a way to jump the queue by buying reservations online through the Craigslist website.
A CTV reporter found that BC Ferries has no problem with this online market, since it doesn't change the number of reservations on any given weekend.
It means that even if a traveler gets to a ferry and finds that the vessel is full, they may not be out of luck.
They can simply pull out a phone or blackberry, and go online to see of someone is willing to sell a reservation.
According to a CTV report, there is always the risk that the buyer could fall for an online scam.
But if it gets them out of a long weekend lineup, it is a risk that some people are apparently willing to take. Every reservation that a CTV reporter found on Craigslist was being sold without a markup.
