Lawyers for two B.C. men accused of having multiple wives say their clients want a jury trial.
But the lawyers for Winston Blackmore and James Oler also indicated in court today that they'll be working hard to have the polygamy case thrown out.
Blackmore's lawyer, Joe Arvay, has filed applications with the provincial court that include his contention that Attorney General Wally Oppal has interfered in the case.
Arvay says he also wants the charges stayed if the court refuses to force the government to pay Blackmore's legal costs.
Crown lawyer Terry Robertson pushed for a quick preliminary hearing date and opposed any delay, saying the public doesn't want to see the trial put on hold for two or three years.
The charges were filed in January and accuse Oler of having three wives and Blackmore of having 19.
