2 shot during fight outside Surrey pub
Two people were injured in a shooting outside of a Surrey pub in the early hours of Sunday morning, according to authorities.
Police were called to the scene on the 8500 block of 132 Street in the Newton area around 2:30 a.m.
“Surrey Police Service frontline officers responded to multiple calls from people … who were reporting that a large fight involving several people had escalated and two men had been shot,” a news release from the department said.
“The victims, both of whom were taken to hospital by bystanders, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.”
Two suspects were seen leaving the scene in a dark-coloured sedan. Police described them as South Asian men.

“We want those people who may have seen something, and understandably may have been scared and left, to please give us a shout,” Surrey Police Service spokesperson Sgt. Lindsey Houghton said.
“You never know when that one piece of information, or that one angle of cell phone footage that you might have, might be the piece that solves it for us.”
