A 16-year-old boy was taken into custody after an assault inside an after-hours nightclub in the Granville entertainment district.
Vancouver police responded to an assault at the Encore Dance Club at 1058 Granville St. shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday night.
Police have said little about the incident, but Sgt. Randy Fincham said officers arrived to find a young woman who had been assaulted.
The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition and an investigation is underway.
The age of the victim has not been released, or where she was found inside the club.
Encore’s website calls the club "a safe environment to party." The club hosts after-hours dance parties on Friday and Saturday nights.
