An explosion at a suspected meth lab put one person in hospital and sparked a house fire in Surrey Monday morning.
Mounties said the blast rang out at a home near Townline Diversion and 96th Avenue, leaving one man with non-life threatening injuries.
“It looks like there was one male who was possibly cooking drugs at the location,” Surrey RCMP spokesman Curtis Harling said.
“Not clear how [seriously] he was injured but he was talking when we got on scene.”
Firefighters were called to the scene to battle a blaze that broke out after the explosion.
Investigators are still trying to determine whether anyone else was at home but there don’t appear to be any other injuries.
