Police in Vancouver have issued a public warning after two women were attacked on the city’s west side just one day apart over the B.C. Day long weekend.

In the first case, a 37-year-old was attacked at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday near 6th Ave. and Moberley St. in Fairview Slopes.

The second attack happened Sunday around 3:45 a.m., on Dunbar St. near 41st Ave. in the Kerrisdale neighbourhood. A 20-year-old screamed and fought off her attacker before he fled southbound on Dunbar St.

Const. Brian Montague said evidence suggests the cases aren’t linked, and investigators are “aggressively” following up on both incidents.

Police did not release a suspect description or a possible motive for the attacks.

Anyone who has information about this attack is asked to call the Vancouver Police Sex Crimes Unit at (604) 717-0603 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
