The BC Coroners Service has released the names of the two young people killed last week in a tragic single-vehicle collision in Peachland.
Seventeen-year-old Delanie Marie Smith of West Kelowna and 20-year-old Peachland resident Michael Grant Baxter were among the passengers of a pickup truck that crashed on a gravel road on Oct. 18.
Mounties say the driver lost control in wet conditions in a hilly area above town, killing Smith and Baxter and injuring two others.
One of the survivors has been treated and released from hospital, while the other remains in intensive care suffering from a head injury.
None of the occupants were wearing a seatbelt, according to police.
The families of the deceased have been notified, and the BC Coroners Service and RCMP are continuing to investigate the crash.
