Vandals have damaged dozens of headstones and markers at a Penticton, B.C. cemetery in what police are calling a "sad and disturbing" attack.
In some cases, headstones were overturned and spray-painted. A total of 30 pieces were defaced at the Lakeview Cemetery on Lower Bench Rd.
Satanic symbols and upside down crosses were sprayed on some of the stones in red paint, along with obscene slogans. On one grave, the numbers '666' can be seen.
Police say there was also a graffiti attack on parts of downtown Penticton over weekend, but it's not known if two incidents are linked.
Anyone with information is asked to call Penticton RCMP or Crimestoppers.
