"Surrey Canada Day is an exciting event for the entire family! Every year we welcome proud Canadians from around the region to celebrate our country's birthday and showcase our national pride and community spirit," said Mayor Dianne Watts.

This year's main stage presented by Chevron boasts another stellar line-up featuring headlining Canadian rock icon, Sam Roberts Band and Vancouver rising star, Hannah Georgas for an amazing evening of music. Sam Roberts is a six-time Juno award winner whose debut album became one of the best selling independent releases in Canadian music history. His impressive string of hits includes "Brother Down," "Don't Walk Away Eileen" and "Where Have All the Good People Gone."

The entertainment line-up runs non-stop all day with a number of musical gems including the collaborative alternative-country group The High Bar Gang (featuring Shari Ulrich, Colin Nairne, Barney Bentall and more) kicks off the early afternoon music, followed up by hit pop singer/songwriter Andrew Allen. Blaze of Glory – a Bon Jovi Tribute is up next, with legendary Jerry Doucette and the dynamic Jordan Cook each delivering blistering guitar-driven sets.

Returning for another year is the dual stage line-up for the second stage presented by The Peak 100.5. Billed as The Peak Performance Stage, this ambitious set-up will feature two side-by-side stages running non-stop all day to host the top 20 bands in BC as selected for the Peak Performance Project.

Another special attraction includes the incredible Global FMX freestyle motocross team who will launch over an 80 foot gap at heights of over 30 feet high. In addition, Shooting Star Amusements will have a full range of family-oriented fun for the younger crowd, including amusements, interactive games and bouncy castles.

Surrey Canada Day will take place Sunday, July 1st at the Cloverdale Millennium Amphitheatre located 176th Street & 64th Avenue. The concert is free to the public and gates open at 10:00 am with the fireworks show slated for 10:15 pm.
