Vancouver police have located and arrested John Robert Trice, a convicted sexual offender who went missing from his halfway house Thursday.
Officers found Trice on the 100-block of West Hastings Street after receiving an anonymous tip, and arrested him without incident.
A Canada-wide warrant for breaching supervision orders was issued for the 48-year-old, who is deemed a moderate-to-high risk to reoffend both violently and sexually.
Trice, who also goes by Robert John Minler and Gary Blain Shannon, was convicted in 1999 for breaking into an 89-year-old woman’s Penticton, B.C. home, assaulting and threatening to kill her, taking off her clothes and tying her up.
His past conviction include break-and-enter, aggravated assault, forcible confinement and assault with a weapon.
