Police seize 3 handguns during traffic stop in Ottawa

A Scarborough, Ont. man is facing charges after police discovered three handguns in a vehicle during a traffic stop in Ottawa.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 417 in the city’s west end at approximately 2 p.m. Tuesday.

“The investigation led officers to locate three handguns, including two that were loaded, as well as ammunition.”

The 48-year-old suspect is facing several charges, including possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm and possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.
