Western Forest Products says most of its mills will be back in operation today after last week's shooting that killed two men and injured two more in Nanaimo.

In a statement, the company says additional security will be in effect at all its sites and the safety of its employees continues to be its highest priority.

Workers at the Nanaimo plant could start returning to the job tomorrow but the union local president says members who are not ready will not be forced to come back immediately.

Funerals for shooting victims Michael Lunn and Fred McEachern will be held Saturday -- while 47-year-old suspect Kevin Addison faces murder and attempted murder charges and returns to court next Tuesday.
