HOUSTON, Tx. - A night after scoring the shootout winner, David Van der Gulik was again the hero for Abbotsford Heat.

Van der Gulik scored at 2:07 of overtime as the Heat downed the Houston Aeros 4-3 in American Hockey League play Sunday.

The right-winger scored the clincher in the ninth round of Abbotsford's 3-2 shootout win on Saturday night against the San Antonio Rampage.

Houston (18-15-5) led 2-0 after the first on Sunday thanks to power-play goals from Robbie Earl and Cody Almond.

Abbotsford's Jason Jaffray scored a short-handed goal at 15:43 of the second to get the Heat (18-16-5) on the board and J.D. Watt scored just under two minutes later to knot things up at 2-2.

Watt's second of the night at 7:15 of the third gave the Heat their first lead, but Danny Irmen tied it 3-3 with 1:13 left in the third.

Despite the loss, Anton Khudobin stood tall in the Houston net, turning aside 38 shots.

Mat Keetley made 18 saves to pick up the win for Abbotsford.
