Former BC Lions defensive lineman, Tyrone Williams, is now a Winnipeg Blue Bomber.

The 6-3, 288 pound Williams joins the Bombers after spending his first seven CFL years with the Lions. As per team policy, details of the agreement are not disclosed.

Williams may be 36-years-old but he proved in 2007 that age is just a number. He had his finest year in the CFL two seasons ago with a career-high 68 tackles, five sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

"Tyrone's body doesn't have the wear and tear you might expect from a veteran of his stature. He brings a level of maturity and professionalism to the clubhouse that I admire and he is a warrior in the trenches," said Blue Bomber head coach Mike Kelly.

Last season, Williams played in all 18 games with the Lions and recorded 49 defensive tackles and a quarterback sack.

Williams is a two-time West division all-star and CFL all-star, making the squads in both 2006 and 2007.
