From familiar hatching critters, to a customizable Lego robot, to interactive monkeys that cling to your finger, the list is out for this holiday season’s must-have toys.
Ross McLaughlin joined up with Toys “R” Us Chief Play Officer, Emile Burbidge, to get the scoop on what kids are going to want this year – and to see if they stack up to the hype.
Paw Patrol is still popular among younger kids and the Sea Patroller Transforming Vehicle is sure to please. It costs about $89.
The Imaginarium Express Power Railes Gold Mountain train set is another hot toy for preschoolers, priced at $99.
The Nerf Modulus Regulator is on the action toy list for older kids at a cost of $89.
And there are coding toys like the Lego BOOST Creative Toolbox, which will cost you $199.
"There are more than 60 codes for each robot," explained Burbidge.
Hatchimals are back with a Toys “R” Us exclusive surprise Puppaddee for $99.
“When they hatch they interact with each other,” said Burbridge.
The L.O.L. Big Surprise is expected to be the hottest toy this season. It’s full of surprises for $99.
The Fingerlings Baby Unicorn Gigi at $19 is expected to be a hot runner up.
But research shows cute plush toys are the fastest growing popular toy.
Tyler the Playful Tiger by furReal will set you back a whopping $180, but it was voted a favourite by Burbridge and McLaughlin.
And in case you didn't notice most of these toys again this year make noise.
“Everyone likes that,” laughed Burbidge.
“Except parents,” joked McLaughlin.
