The Surrey, B.C. man who was tackled while trying to streak across the field at BC Place over the weekend is now being represented by a law firm specializing in personal injury cases.

According to Preszler Law Firm, the young man suffered a "mild traumatic brain injury" when defensive back Marcell Young stopped him in his tracks during Saturday's home opener.

"Our client has been released from hospital and is now recovering at home. His future prognosis remains unclear," Preszler said in a statement.

The firm did not indicate it is filing a lawsuit on the young man's behalf.

Preszler did dispute reports that its client spent Saturday night in jail, insisting he "was released from the stadium shortly after the incident before being taken to the hospital by his family."

On Wednesday, Vancouver police confirmed their initial statement that the football fan was taken to jail to sober up was wrong.

"He was not charged with a criminal offence and was offered an ambulance, which he declined," Sgt. Jason Robillard said in a statement.

"He was escorted out of BC Place and was released at the scene and not transported to jail as previously stated."

Though he wasn't arrested, the young man was dinged with a $115 ticket for trespassing on the field.

The Canadian Football League declined to comment on the story Wednesday, but Lions Coach Wally Buono told The Canadian Press Thursday that the incident was "unfortunate."

He said he's talked to his players about focusing on playing football, and that anything else can cause problems.

"It's not something that you would ever want. It's not healthy for the fan, it's not healthy for the player. Nobody wins in those situations," he said.

"Unfortunately, sports is an emotional game and sometimes things unfortunately get out of control."

He added that paying to attend a sporting event doesn't excuse spectators from the rules that are in place.
