Homicide investigators are asking for help identifying a person of interest in a shooting that left a Surrey man dead at a Christmas Eve house party.

Twenty-eight-year-old Bradley McPherson was killed by another partygoer in the early hours of Dec. 24 at the gathering in a home near the intersection of 132nd Street and 67A Avenue.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says it is "aggressively" pursuing the young man's killer, and issued a statement Tuesday requesting information about a party attendee they'd like to speak with.

The person of interest is described as dark-skinned and about 6 feet tall with a medium or large build. He was wearing a dark hoodie with a distinctive white crest or a camouflage-patterned jacket on the night of the party.

Police say that the party was well-attended and they believe someone may be able to help them identify the man.

Shortly after McPherson was killed, his mother Susan made a plea for help in solving the case.

"Bradley was a fun loving man who loved his family and he was in no way involved in illegal activity. This was a senseless act which has taken a son away from his mother forever," she said in a written statement on Dec. 26.

Anyone with information about McPherson's murder or the person of interest in the case can call the IHIT tipline at 1-877-551-IHIT or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
