Metro Vancouver commuters should be in for some good news on Monday.

Translink is holding a press conference where it is expected to announce that the Golden Ears Bridge will open ahead of schedule.

The $800 million structure was originally set to open on July 1st. Once complete, it will span the Fraser River, linking Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows with Surrey and Langley.

The bridge will be tolled and feature the first electronic tolling system in western Canada. It will be free for the first month, and charge up to $4 per car after that.
