Major crimes investigators with the Surrey RCMP were called in to Morgan Crossing early Wednesday morning after a body was found in a car in a parking lot.

Police say they received a call just before 5 a.m. about a man’s body at the shopping centre, near 24th Ave. and 158th St.

The incident was first called a suspicious death, but RCMP now call it a "sudden death."  Investigators are still trying to confirm circumstances but say there's no reason for the public to be concerned.

The area was also the site of a gang-related shooting in April.

Craig Widdifield, 28, was shot to death as he sat in a parked vehicle outside of the Steve Nash Fitness Centre.
