NORTH VANCOUVER, B.C. -- The B.C. Conservative party has wasted no time replacing a candidate who resigned suddenly.

The party confirms Allan Molyneaux will represent the Tories in the North Vancouver-Lonsdale riding.

Molyneaux stepped up less than 12 hours after the announcement of the resignation of Jeff Sprague.

The party is only saying Sprague quit to deal with what is being called "an unfortunate personal incident."

A party spokesman could not provide any information about Molyneaux, other than his name, and had no information about when the candidate's biography might be posted on the B.C. Conservative website.

The party is running 55 candidates in ridings across the province.
