The survivor of a B.C. plane crash that killed seven people has been transferred to Edmonton as he recovers from his burns.

Tom Wilson of Fort Saskatchewan, Alta., was the only person to survive when the float plane slammed into a hillside on a remote island off B.C. last Sunday.

The pilot and six other passengers were killed, while Wilson managed to walk away with burns but no other major injuries.

Doctors at Vancouver General Hospital have said it was `remarkable' that Wilson was alive, and he's expected to make a full recovery.

Health officials in both cities have confirmed that Wilson was transferred to Edmonton's University of Alberta Hospital on Wednesday.

Anna Marie D'Angelo of Vancouver Coastal Health says Wilson was stable enough to be moved, and wanted to be closer to his family.
