Former B.C. labour minister Iain Black will step down as an MLA and take a job in the private sector.

Black is accepting a job as the CEO of the Vancouver Board of Trade, the BC Liberals announced Wednesday.

"Congrats to… Iain Black," read a Twitter post from the party.

Black is currently the MLA for Port Moody-Coquitlam.

He had previously served as minister of small business, technology and economic development. He was elected to represent the Tri-Cities region in the 2009 general election.

This is the second blow to Premier Christy Clark's cabinet this week. B.C. Attorney General Barry Penner announced his resignation Aug. 18, saying he wants to spend more time with his family.
