With the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games only nine days away, Vancouver's Olympic Organizing Committee (VANOC) has announced its ticket strategy for the upcoming 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.

More than 250,000 tickets for the 52 sporting and ceremony events for the Games will go on sale May 6, 2009 on a first-come, first-served basis.

Organizers say the prices will be affordable, with 85 per cent of tickets priced at $20 or less.

Tickets for the opening ceremonies will cost between $30 to $175.

Five Paralympians were on hand at today's announcement, including Lauren Woolstencroft, 2006 Paralympic gold medalist.

"Having venues filled with cheering, flag-waving Canadians will be an enormous advantage for all of our athletes," said the Olympic alpine skier.

A complete list of ticket information is available on the Vancouver 2010 website.
