A jury has convicted a 29-year old law student guilty of manslaughter for killing his friend outside of West Vancouver's Hollyburn Country Club in 2006.
Sasan Ansari was found not guilty of the more serious charge of second-degree murder in the death of Josh Goos.
The UBC law student admitted to causing the 30 stab wounds that killed Goos, but testified he had no memory of the attack.
At the trial, a forensic psychiatrist told the jury Ansari suffered a bout of amnesia at the time of the attack and was likely in a "dissociated state" caused by stress.
Goos, 27, was attacked in his Jeep Cherokee outside the country club during an argument over a $90,000 loan from Ansari.
Defence lawyer Richard Peck says there likely won't be an appeal.
Ansari will be sentenced Nov. 21.
