Snow squall warnings for parts of the region, bitter cold winds

CTV Meteorologist Julie Atchison has the latest weather forecast.

A snow squall warning remains in effect for parts of the region on Wednesday.

Lake effect squalls continue bringing reduced visibility that could be heavy at times for parts of Huron, Perth and Oxford counties.

The squalls are expected to shift northward through the morning, easing into flurries in the afternoon.

The normal high for this time of year is around -3 C and the low around -10 C. Windchill values on Wednesday will have it feeling like -16 C in the London region.

Wednesday: Flurries ending early this morning then mainly cloudy with 60 per cent chance of flurries. Wind west 30 km/h gusting to 50. High minus 5. Wind chill near minus 16.

Wednesday Night: Mainly cloudy with 40 per cent chance of flurries. Wind southwest 30 km/h gusting to 50. Low minus 12. Wind chill minus 16 this evening and minus 22 overnight.

Thursday: Flurries. Local amount 2 cm. Wind southwest 30 km/h gusting to 50. High minus 4. Wind chill minus 20 in the morning and minus 11 in the afternoon.

Friday: Cloudy. High zero.

Saturday: Cloudy with 60 percent chance of flurries or rain showers. High plus 1.

Sunday: Cloudy with 30 percent chance of flurries. High minus 8.
