The husband of Wendy Ladner-Beaudry has been ruled out as a suspect in her murder.

"At this time, investigators do not consider Mr. Beaudry as being responsible for the murder of his wife Wendy," Cpl. Dale Carr of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said in a statement sent to media.

"We will not be commenting on tactics used to arrive at that conclusion," he wrote.

Carr said both the Beaudry and Ladner families have been cooperative with investigators since her death April 3.

Michel Beaudry declined to comment on the development.

On April 6, the writer told CTV British Columbia he would remember his wife -- the sister of former Vancouver city mayoral candidate Peter Ladner -- as a talented athlete with no enemies.

"It was an act of evil and I'm sad to say evil is taking over Vancouver," he said.

The mother of two was found slain near a hiking trail at the entrance to Pacific Spirit Park near the University of British Columbia in broad daylight, prompting a massive investigation involving up to 75 officers from several jurisdictions.

"I know Wendy would have fought to the death, and I guess that's why she's dead. She fought and she taught her girls to fight," Michel Beaudry said.

At the time, police were not able to say if she was attacked by a stranger or someone she knew.

Investigators have received hundreds of tips about the murder, but no arrests have been made.
