Hundreds of mourners turned out in Burnaby, B.C., Friday to honour 31-year-old Aneez Mohamed. He and his fianc�e Chanelle Morgan died after being struck by a car last Saturday night near Granville Island.
Both Mohamed and Morgan were crossing a marked crosswalk on a green light just before midnight when they were struck.
He was a cardiologist at the University of British Columbia (UBC), described as a rising star.
She was a talented painter -- in her second year of social work at UBC.
Eighteen year-old Kurtis Rock has been charged with dangerous driving, causing death, impaired driving causing death, and failure to stop at an accident causing bodily harm.
