Santa Claus is visiting the B.C. SPCA's Vancouver branch on Saturday, and he better bring a few lint brushes.

The shelter, located at 1204 E. 7th Avenue, is hosting it's annual fundraiser today, which allows animal lovers to bring in their cherished house pets to pose with jolly St. Nick.

"It's always a fun event because everyone gets a kick out of seeing their dog or cat hamming it up for the camera," branch manager Ryan Voutilainen said in a release.

"What could possibly look better on your fireplace mantel at Christmas than a photo of your pet with Santa?"

Photos cost $5 each or $10 for three, and will be available until 3 p.m.

Dogs and cats are the most common animals to pose with Santa, but the SPCA welcomes all pets -- as long as a guardian is present, and the animals will not be distressed by the experience.

Santa Paws Toy Drive

Saturday also marks the final day of the shelter's annual Santa Paws Toy Drive.

Donors are asked to bring toys and Science Diet food for the animals cared for at the SPCA over the next year.

Toys are an integral part of the animals' mental and physical stimulation, according to the shelter.

Donations can be left at any SPCA shelter or at any Tisol Pet Store in Vancouver.
