Police in Surrey, B.C., are investigating a large fire at a home where a man was gunned down in a driveway last week.

The Surrey Fire Service was called to the home in the 17600-block of 24th Avenue Wednesday afternoon to deal with the fire, which caused extensive damage. People were inside the home at the time of the fire, but were able to escape without injury.

Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the blaze, but RCMP have confirmed that that the home is the same one where 51-year-old Randall William Davis was murdered on Oct. 7.

Police say Davis was connected to the drug trade, and has three drug-related convictions dating back to 1998, 2007 and 2010.
