An elderly man is dead and a woman remains in hospital after getting hit while trying to cross the street in Langley Thursday evening.
Mounties say it happened around 7 p.m. at the corner of 72nd Avenue and 198b Street.
Both pedestrians were air lifted to hospital. The man, in his 80's, died from his injuries, but an elderly female victim is reportedly in stable condition.
The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
Police do not think speed or alcohol played a role in the crash.
Witnesses say it's possible the setting sun caused issues with visibility.
