Classes have been canceled for Capilano University students at three campuses today due to a faculty strike.
The strike has shut down classes at the university’s North Shore, Squamish and Sunshine Coast campuses.
More than 7,000 students are affected by the work stoppage.
The university says final exams are expected to go ahead as scheduled starting Monday, but three remaining days on the class schedule have been canceled.
The strike stems from a labour dispute between the 640-member faculty association and the school, who were in mediation talks as recently as Tuesday.
No deal has been reached.
It’s unclear how long the strike could last, and pickets were expected to go up Wednesday morning at the campuses.
