Chilling video has emerged from Shanghai, showing an interview with the man who allegedly murdered British Columbia model Diana O'Brien.

The video aired on a government-run news show called Dongfang 110. It shows 18-year old migrant worker, Chen Jun,  talk about murdering O'Brien.

O'Brien, a 22-year-old Saltspring Island native, was on a modelling assignment in China when she was found dead as a result of stab wounds on the steps of her apartment on July 7.

In the tape, Jun says he was looking for money when he broke into her apartment. She apparently surprised him and police say that's when he stabbed her.

The show also aired on closed-circuit camera footage from O'Brien's apartment building.

According to police, O'Brien survived the first stabbing, so Jun continued to stab her.

Friends and family of the model held a memorial on Saltspring Island, Sunday.
