Four people - including an RCMP officer - were sent to hospital Sunday morning after a crash on Highway 1 in Langley.
A marked RCMP vehicle was parked on the side of the highway’s westbound lanes, between 232nd Street and Glover Road, waiting for a tow-truck to attend to a single-vehicle rollover accident. A third vehicle rear-ended the RCMP car shortly before 8 a.m., seriously injuring the police officer.
All three occupants of the vehicle that rear-ended the officer’s car were also transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The westbound lanes of the highway were closed for several hours, but were expected to reopen to traffic sometime between 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., according to Drive BC:
