Les Staff

Les Staff is the News Director for CTV News Vancouver.

Les has been in the role since December 2012.  He joined CTV News Vancouver in November of 2007.  Prior to this, Les was the News Director at CTV News Saskatoon. 

Over two decades, Les has worked in TV news. He has been a reporter, anchor and producer.

Receiving his education at Mount Royal College in Calgary, Les hails from Saskatchewan and began his career in one of Canada’s smallest TV markets. He has also worked in this country’s largest market, Toronto. 

While working as a reporter, Les won the Radio and Television News Directors Award (RTNDA) for Investigative Reporting.  Les’ documentary, “Nowhere to Hide” explored the terrifying reality of women being stalked by men.  Following the documentary, legislative changes were made to tighten up the laws prohibiting this crime to better protect people from harassment.

Les and his wife Corry are avid skiers and enjoy the outdoors.  They truly enjoy life in British Columbia and the fantastic lifestyle this province has to offer.
