Dave is a Canadian television journalist with more than 40 years’ experience working for every major national broadcaster.
After graduating from the Journalism program at University of Western Ontario in his hometown of London, he covered the general assignment beats for CBC and CTV affiliates before moving his family to Vancouver in 1985.
His more than two decades of producing feature stories, comedy specials and documentaries for CKVU-TV in Vancouver have taken him from New Zealand to Newfoundland with countless memorable stops in between. His efforts at uncovering the hidden tales along British Columbia’s back roads have netted more than a dozen provincial, national and international awards for excellence in broadcasting.
In the Spring of 2013, Dave’s feature work for Global Television in Toronto was recognized with an Edward R. Murrow award for Writing.
In 2015, Dave was given a lifetime achievement award by the RTDNA, the country's national association for electronic journalists.
When he’s not busy sourcing story material or writing for his longtime blog, Manic Tapas, Dave busies himself in a home art studio where he paints and sculpts.
He is also a lifelong sailor.
